Executive Win for Lee Childs

Lee Childs, an American professional player best known for his seventh place finish in the 2007 World Series Of Poker’s Main Event, won Saturday’s Executive Poker Tour.

Held at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the $2,500 event was attended by some of the biggest names in poker and will be broadcast on television at a later date.

“The structure of the tournament was one of the best I have ever seen,” said Childs. “It was a really fun tournament and really catered to the players.”

The event raised money for the Project Lifesaver Foundation that provides people who might wander off such as senior citizens or mentally impaired children and adults with an electronic device that transmits a signal allowing law enforcement agencies and rescue workers to track them down. The device is worn around the wrist or ankle and is slightly larger than a wristwatch.

Childs stated that he was especially pleased to win this event as he donates his time and resources to a number of charities including the American Cancer Society, the Make A Wish Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association.

This was the first ever event for the Executive Poker Tour and it will now travel to Las Vegas for its second episode before returning to the Jersey shore in the spring for its third. The Tour is a non-profit organisation founded by businessman and poker player Rick Rahim, who is also the Executive Director of the Project Lifesaver Foundation.
