Poker legend prepares for some High Stakes

Doyle Brunson, the winner of ten World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and two WSOP Main Events, is preparing for a run of High Stakes Poker.

The poker legend, who was the first man to earn $1 million in poker tournaments, will play in the soon to be televised series where the minimum buy-in is going up from $100,000 to $500,000, reports PokerListings.

Airing on November 5th, the Texas Dolly said it would be one of his biggest challenges yet.

Brunson commented in a trailer for the next instalment : "Never thought I'd see the day they had a poker game this big on TV.

"It's going to be a war."

Some of the pros taking part in the televised High Stakes Poker event are Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, Jamie Gold and Barry Greenstein.

The co-founder and CEO of the event, Guy Laliberte, will be flying the flag for amateur participation with his entry.

He said: "This is a perfect platform for me to have fun."

Brunson, however, quipped: "There is only one guy sitting in that game that can really afford to play this high, and that's Guy."
