Virgin Poker Festival Coming Soon to Birmingham

What we at Bluff like the most is the cheapest possible way to get a lot of poker chips and then move them around as if we were Sammy Farha. The guys at Virgin Poker have now come up with a tournament which is ideal for those with big ambitions, and smaller bankrolls.

The event will be a �105 buy-in with �5,000 added to the prize pool by Virgin, spread over two days. Taking place the Broadway Casino in Birmingham, there will be added entertainment in the forms of bounties, side events and a whole host of fun and games.

Here’s the twist though – entries are only through qualification, with direct buy-ins not permitted. Qualification will be permitted through online satellites from as little as €1.80, or through a limited number of live satellites being organised around the country.

Some of the side bonus prizes, which Virgin are calling ‘The V Factor’, make for an interesting day of poker. For instance, the player suffering the worst bad beat of the main event wins a day of Xtreme Rallying! For once I am praying my quad nines don’t get beaten, as my lack of driving licence will make the Rallying even more extreme! Another novel idea is ‘The Golden Ticket’, where every qualifier can give the name of a friend or partner who’ll be joining them to enter a draw. Before the start of the main event the draw will be made and whoever gets drawn from the hat will win the Golden Seat.
