Andersen wins $10k at WPS Costa Rica

Poker-loving Norwegian Geir-Yngve Andersen has come away $10,000 better off from a recent World Poker Showdown (WPS) event in Costa Rica, according to reports.

Mr Andersen made his way to the big-money final table at the poker showdown, having already scooped more than $3,000 on a no-limit Texas Hold 'em game, and added to his winnings by close to $7,000 after finishing eighth.

After his success at the poker tables in Costa Rica, Mr Andersen said:
"I want to move there."

"People were very friendly and the tournament organizers did a tremendous job," he added.

Mr Andersen qualified for the event in the Central American country by coming through Titan Poker's qualifying competitions and Poker Listings reports that he will now be aiming to book a place at the WPS' Bahamas Deep Stack Poker Open event in January next year.

Titan Poker recently sent a delegation of some of the more successful players in its online gaming rooms to the Australian Open poker event in Melbourne.
