Suspect Charged in American Poker Robbery

Police in New York City have announced that a Bronx man has been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the November 2 hold-up of a Manhattan poker club.

Investigators said William Delvalle was arrested over the weekend and charged with second-degree murder. He appeared in Supreme Court on Tuesday but was released on his own recognizance, as there was no grand jury action as required by law, with the case being adjourned until January.

Police stated that they are still seeking others in the case as more than one masked man was believed to have entered the club but declined to discuss any of the specifics in the case including whether Delvalle was believed to have carried the shotgun that discharged and killed Frank DeSena, a former maths professor from New Jersey.

In another case, police in the southern state of West Virginia have arrested a woman who's been on the run since last week following her alleged involvement in an armed robbery at a poker game in Putnam County.

Investigators said that Jacqueline Dennis was one of two women involved in the robbery of six men during a poker game near the town of Hurricane on November 1 and made off with $27,000.

The other suspect, Kimberly Steinbrecher, turned herself into police shortly after the robbery and was charged with armed robbery before being released on $100,000 bond.

Police stated that Dennis was found in her car near Hurricane yesterday resting and is being held pending charge.
