Online Casino Goes 3-D

Online casino, poker room and sportsbook Ladbrokes.com has announced that its site now features the latest three-dimensional virtual reality poker.

Licensed in the UK, the site integrated cutting-edge video gaming software with its existing poker service to give customers the option of creating a customised three-dimensional avatar with physical characteristics. In the poker game, the three-dimensional avatar is to display the same human-like movements that have been developed for video games.

'This is a major step in the convergence of video gaming technology and online gaming and we're pleased to be the first leading poker site to go ‘virtual’,” said John O'Reilly, Managing Director for Ladbrokes eGaming.

O’Reilly stated that Ladbrokes customers can still play on any table but now with the option of playing three-dimensionally.

The new service will also allow players to speak with each other using voice over Internet protocol (VOIP) as well as existing text chat to further enhance the online poker experience.

The new service was developed in conjunction with Playwize, a UK video games developer, and will also give players the opportunity of developing their skills by using interactive tutorials and a practice mode with advice and tips from online poker experts.

O'Reilly stated that the key priority was to ensure that the three-dimensional virtual software integrated effectively with the existing poker site to ensure the best possible delivery for players.

'This means three-dimensional players will have access to all the same tournaments and cash games as existing players,” said O’Reilly.
