Boris Becker Joins Team Poker Stars

One of the greatest players in the history of tennis is to join the team at PokerStars.com with the intention of taking his game to the next level.

Boris Becker won six grand slam tennis events in his career and will join a PokerStars.com team that includes top poker professionals Joe Hachem and Daniel Negreanu along with fellow German Katja Thater.

“When I was still playing professional tennis I started learning to play poker casually in-between games because it helped me to improve my concentration,” said Becker.

“Now I want to develop my poker skills and challenge myself to become really competitive at the highest levels in poker.”

The Olympic gold medallist stated that he had participated in very intense poker training sessions with Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu to prepare for his first stop on the European Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour German Open in Dortmund on January 29. He said that he would then travel to the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo in mid-April.
