Country music stars play poker for charity

A group of country music stars will exchange their guitars for poker chips when the TJ Martell Foundation's first annual Celebrity Poker Tournament is held on December 11th.

Robin Leach, host of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Top rodeo stars will also swap their lassos for cards in a bid to raise money for leukaemia, cancer, and Aids research.

Luke Bryan, Houston Hutto, Buddy Jewell and Charley Pride all announced they will play, joining Britt Bockius, Tracy Byrd, Rodney Carrington, Lee Greenwood, Justin McBride, and Trent Willmon.

For a buy-in of $500, a potential 150 poker players will compete for a share in the $50,000 prize pool under the direction of Mark Fracalossi.

The game will be No-Limit Texas Hold'em and will be preceded by a charity auction.

All re-buys and add-ons from the tournament will benefit the TJ Martell Foundation, which supports eight of the top research hospitals in the US.
