Poker pack could provide murder clue

Poker could help in the investigation of the murder of Albert Seaburg outside a Tallahassee motel in 1997.

Authorities from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have made two sets of poker cards featuring photos of murder victims, information regarding the case plus a phone number for anyone who knows anything.

Some 100,000 decks have been delivered in Florida's 129 state prisons and so far 66 tip-offs have been gained, with two cold-case murders solved.

Police say the initiative has helped enough for Florida to plan another deck and authorities in San Diego, Kansas City and Odessa have since created their own packs of telltale poker cards.

Mr Seaburg, 71, was on a business trip when he was shot at a Tallahassee motel in September 1997.

Police say the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.

Seaburg's nephew, Robert Hansen, is maintaining the fight for the finding of his uncle's killer.

The first set of poker cards to help solve crime was produced in 2005 for the county jail, inspired by the most-wanted deck of Saddam Hussein on 2003.
