UK Newspaper’s Online Bingo Site Gets its Number Called

The Daily Mail’s Internet gambling website, MailBingo.com, has come under fire from church groups and gaming firms alike for allegedly neglecting to offer advice to vulnerable gamblers and using youngsters as a vehicle to promote games.

The Observer newspaper revealed that theMailBingo.com website, where players can apparently register with minimal levels of security to try their hand at games including online poker, roulette and slot-machine games, failed to meet guidelines outlined by gambling advisory groups GamCare and Responsibility in Gambling Trust.

Cashcade, the company that operates MailBingo.com, hurried to smooth over the Observer’s findings by issuing the following statement: “We are grateful that the absence of player protection references on this site has been brought to our attention. This was an oversight which has been immediately corrected.”
