Friday 21st December 2007 Superman joins poker tournament
Dean Cain, who played Superman on the small screen will compete in 'Operation All In', a charity poker tournament hosted by mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture.
But he may have to use his superpowers if he wants to win, as Jamie Gold, the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, will be one of his opponents.
Taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on January 12th, poker pros and celebrities will be competing for cash prizes and raising money for injured US soldiers.
With a $550 buy-in, the No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament will feature $200 rebuys and a guaranteed prize pool. The odds of winning have been shortened after organisers limited the field to 15 tables.
A silent auction will benefit Couture's Xtreme Couture GI Foundation, which raises money and awareness for soldiers who have been injured on duty and helps to support their families.
Over 24,000 US GIs have suffered serious physical injuries as a result of the war against terrorism.
Superman fans can see for themselves how Superman fares, as the tournament is open for the public to pop along and watch.
