Best online poker player named

The Card Player Online Player (OPOY) of the Year has finally been named as Isaac Baron, or 'westmanloAA' as his handle is on the net.

It wasn't an easy victory however, with Matt 'ch0ppy' Kay threatening to take the title in the final week.

The pair were only 26 points apart in the final stages although Baron won a $200 rebuy tournament to pull ahead from second.

Kay began 2007 at the top of the OPOY leader board after winning the year's first Sunday Million, and was overtaken by Baron and Sorel 'Imper1um' Mizzi, who also enjoyed stints at the top and eventually finished third.

But Baron triumphed with 8,304 points and $1,036,452 in OPOY eligible poker winnings, 37 top-20 placings, 20 final table appearances with seven victories.
