Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure: Day Two Completed

The remaining 478 players were merged into a single field for the first time, and once the chips were all bagged up, 159 would remain. Those hitting the rail include Daniel Negreanu, Isabelle Mercier and Noah Boerken, but two online giants had much better days. It’s Rizen and ElkY at the top of the chip count, or Eric Lynch and Bertrand Grospellier to their mothers.

Eric ‘Rizen’ Lynch has been one of the most feared and respected online players now for several years, and his transition to the live arena has been remarkable. Two final tables and a very deep run in the Main Event at the 2007 WSOP might be ok, but Eric seems to have even more in mind. In this tournament he worked the stack up, gaining ground on the those above him, before a major call in the last hand of the day with pocket Kings against an all in on the turn from his opponent propelled him into first place. Grospellier had spent most of the day at the top of the leaderboard, but with his 435,000 in chips compared to Lynch’s 526.900, ElkY won’t be too displeased with his work.

Other Team PokerStars Pros who finished well include Hevad Khan, Barry Greenstein and Victor Ramdin. Julian Thew is also playing well. Thew is dangerously close to being heralded as ‘Mr EPT’, with one win and multiple cashes to his name already. Here he ended the days play on 372,500. Meanwhile, ‘Mr Caribbean’ himself, Steve Paul-Ambrose, couldn’t muster another deep run in the sunshine, nor could 2003 World Champion Chris Moneymaker make any inroads in his quest to win another title.
