Unlucky Londoner wins WSOP event

Lynn Achey has won the 13th event of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Circuit tour at Grand Casino Tunica.

The London-born poker player pocketed $64,411 for triumphing at the $500 No Limit Texas Hold'em event.

It is the first time that Achey has achieved a big poker win, despite the fact that he has been playing poker for a quarter of a century.

"I'm usually unlucky," he was quoted on the WSOP website as saying. "I didn't expect to win, but I sucked out a couple of times tonight. I guess you have to."

The 54-year-old only learned Texas Hold'em a few years ago, mainly playing Stud up until then, playing small cash games at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City.

Living in Missouri, this is only Achey's third WSOP circuit, but still he showed his skill to bust out the massive chip leader, Charles Williams, on his way to victory.
