Online Poker Room’s Super Bowl Prize

Online poker room PartyPoker.com has launched its $10,000 Gridiron Party promotion linked to the forthcoming Super Bowl XLII championship game to help one winning fan throw the best American football party ever.

Although PartyPoker.com does not accept US business following the passage of America’s Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006, the game of American football is popular outside of the United States with its Super Bowl signature event broadcast extensively.

'From a gigantic television to your own cheerleading troupe, you can have the party of your dreams,' read a statement released by PartyPoker.com.

Qualified players will earn a seat in one of four poker qualifiers where the top 150 in each game will move on to one of two semi-final rounds. From here, the top 50 players in each round will progress to a finals event where the $10,000 top prize is up for grabs.

The final 100 players will battle it out on January 26 and every player that exits, at each stage, will receive a free bet on PartyBets.com where another $10,000 prize is being offered as consolation.

Super Bowl XLII is scheduled to take place February 3 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and is to be broadcast around the world including the UK, where the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has acquired the rights to show the game live on BBC2, and Germany, where ARD will broadcast the game in German without advertising.
