Shane Warne in Intensive Training

He is one of the most famous cricketers in the history of the game but Shane Warne is getting ready to embark on a new test. 888.com have announced their exclusive poker sponsorship with Shane Warne and have confirmed that he will captain their Australian poker team in to numerous tournaments throughout 2008.

Having had a successful sports career, Shane will know all about intensive training and staying focused which will lead him in good stead whilst playing poker.

He can be found brushing up his poker skills and training at 888.com in time for his appearance in the first poker event now and if that weren’t enough he’ll be keeping a diary of his experiences as Captain of the 888.com Australian Poker Team in the form of a blog which can be seen at www.888poker.com.

Shane has been confirmed as captaining the 888.com Australian Poker Team for the following events:

* WSOP

* UK Poker Open

* Poker Nations Cup

* Aussie Millions

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Shane will also be participating in further competitions to be announced over the coming weeks.
