Player Robbed at Aussie Millions

Compared to back in the days when Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim and Puggy Pearson were playing poker, this game is a lot safer. That makes the news of a young American pro being robbed at the Aussie Millions all the more alarming though.

Jason Potter, a 22-year-old professional player from Oklahoma, had cashed in 31st place at the tournament, and must have been delighted when he left the Crown Casino in the small hours of the morning.

However, the joy was short-lived after he was held up at knifepoint and robbed off his winnings in central Melbourne.

'I did briefly go to fight back until I saw the knife but ... no amount of money is worth it,' he told reporters.

'It's not life changing. It definitely hurts really bad, but nothing in my life will change because of it. I'd come back here - I've had a really great time.'

Potter suspects that he had been watched earlier in the evening before he cashed out his chips at the casino and was then attacked en route to his hotel.
