WSOP Satellites Begin on Party Poker

Chris Moneymaker famously stumped up $40 for an online satellite and ended up walking away with the 2003 World Series Main Event title and $2.5m. Raymer got in on the cheap, turning his $160 investment into $5m. Why spend that much though when you can get in for $1?

Online qualifiers for this year’s WSOP have kicked off over at PartyPoker.com, with feeder satellites to the weekly $550+$30 satellite running around the clock.

The package to July’s Main Event includes the $10,000 buy in, $1,000 in spending money, luxury accommodation on the strip, transfers and access to the very exclusive VIP hospitality suite.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said, “The qualifiers are already popular, as they offer the chance to be one of the first to win a seat for the WSOP. If you qualify now, you can sit back in the comfort that you know that you are off to Vegas and exploit the cheaper flight options.”
