Brunson jilts Michael Jordan for poker

Poker pro Doyle Brunson has rejected Michael Jordan's offer of a golf holiday in Cabo San Lucas for the first time in five years, as he wants to win the NBC Head's Up Poker Championship.

According to Gambling911.com, Brunson is not interested in playing the sporting giant at golf because he would rather compete in the poker tourney at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Beginning on February 28th, Brunson aims to compete against 63 other poker fans, including pros such as Annie Duke, Freddy Deeb and 2007 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion, Jerry Yang.

Barry Greenstein, Howard Lederer, Jamie Gold, Antonio Esfandiari, Shannon Elizabeth and defending champion of the event Paul Wasicka are also expected to play at the poker tournament.

The NBC Head's Up Poker Championship features one-on-one games of No Limit Texas Hold'em and will run for the fourth time this year.

In the past Ted Forrest and Phil Hellmuth have both won the event.
