Swede Wins Online Poker Leaderboard

Swedish amateur online player Cecilia Borg triumphed this week at Bet365.com’s Poker Leaderboard Challenge to take home guaranteed seats at every iPoker-supported land-based European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour tournament this year and a chance at starting a lucrative professional career.

The student teacher from Vasterbotten stated that she was more used to playing Bet365.com's $20 Sit and Go Tournaments over the Internet from her living room than competing against seasoned professionals.

'I can't wait to play in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and London, said the 22-year-old player.

“I haven't travelled that much so it really is exciting.'

The Poker Leaderboard Challenge featured a prize pool worth over $130,000 and Borg stated that she is leaving the door open on whether to turn professional.

“If all goes well at the World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour tournaments, we will have to wait and see,” said Borg.
