Irish Join Anti-Fraud Network

Boylesports, Ireland's largest independent bookmaker, has joined the collaborative fraud management group Ethoca’s global anti-fraud network to help increase customer retention, speed up dispute resolution and prepare for entry into new markets.

Boylesports is the latest to join Ethoca's fast-growing network, which also includes gaming leaders such as Stan James, William Hill, Bwin, 888 and Ladbrokes.

Headquartered in Dundalk, Boylesports offers customers online sportsbetting along with poker and casino games and it stated that Ethoca's fraud-fighting technology would improve its operations by enabling good customers to wager quicker to increase customer retention.

It said that being part of Ethoca’s network would also help it to proactively increase deposit limits for good customers by distinguishing between fraudsters and those with a legitimate grievances and identify new patterns of fraud as it enters new markets in Eastern Europe and Asia.

'Boylesports prides itself on offering customer service that is second to none, so it's important that we strike the right balance between rejecting fraudulent transactions and potentially turning away good customers,' said Michael Bent, Head of Finance and Internet Development for Boylesports.

'We are pleased to welcome Boylesports to our fast-growing ranks of companies around the world united in the battle to fight online fraud,' said Andre Edelbrock, President and Chief Executive Officer for Ethoca.

'By pooling payment data and experiences, Ethoca customers are alerted to large-scale fraud patterns earlier and stay ahead of those who try to game the system. Our customers benefit far more by working collectively than what any could achieve alone because seeing fraud in near real-time enables more-informed decisions, which means they can move quickly to avoid losses.'
