Wednesday 13th February 2008 Canadian Open Poker Champs to open in style
The 2008 Canadian Open Poker Championships launch party is set to see an explosion of glitz and glamour ahead of the prestigious tournament kick-off on March 5th.
The event, which will run until March 9th and boasts over $1.3 million in prize money, will be at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino.
And, ahead of the showdown, HeadsUp Entertainment has announced details of the Maxim/Coors Light "Ultimate Players Party" at Snatch Rock n' Roll Lounge in Calgary, Alberta.
Beginning at 19:00, the party will see a performance by singer Suzie McNeil, the 2008 New Artist of the Year at this year's Juno Awards, and will also feature the girls from Coors Light, Maxim Magazine and HeadsUp Entertainment .
Poker pros Phil Laak, Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari, "Yukon" Brad Booth and Huckleberry Seed, the 1996 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, will all also be in attendance.
Actress Jennifer Tilly, best known for her role in The Fabulous Baker Boys and an accomplished poker player herself, will also be attending.
"This will be a night like Calgary has never seen," said HeadsUp Entertainment's president Kelly B. Kellner, "with some of Canada's most beautiful women, international celebrities, poker pros and phenomenal entertainment."
