Wednesday 13th February 2008 Bodog Announce the First Bodog Poker Open
Next month will see Bodog hold it’s first Bodog Poker Open, a six-event tournament which will see $75,000 added to the prize pools.
The series, which begin on the 3rd March, will be capped by a $500 No Limit Hold’em event on Saturday 9th March. The winner of this event will be named the Bodog Poker Champion, and will win themselves an engraved Omega Speedmaster watch on top of the cash prize.
“We’re excited to finally give our online players a tournament series where they can battle it out for some major bragging rights and serious money,” said Bodog North American CEO Alwyn Morris. “While there will be more Bodog Poker Opens, there will only be one ‘first’ Bodog Poker Champion, and he or she will have the cash and champion’s Omega Speedmaster watch to show for it.”
Satellites for the events started on Monday, with the winners off the preliminary events in the mini-festival gaining a free spot in the main event.
The full schedule is as follows:
Monday, 3rd March — $250+$20 No-Limit Hold’em ($10,000 added)
Tuesday, 4th March — $300+$25 shorthanded No-Limit Hold’em ($10,000 added)
Wednesday, 5th March — $100+$10 No-Limit Hold’em ($10,000 added)
Thursday, 6th March — $200+$15 Pot-Limit Hold’em ($10,000 added)
Friday, 7th March — $150+$10 Limit Hold’em ($10,000 added)
Saturday, 8th March — satellite day
Sunday, 9th March — $470+$30 Main Event ($25,000 added)
