Lesofski To Manage PPA’s Grassroots Operations

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) advocacy group has appointed Drew Lesofski as Director of Grassroots and External Affairs tasked with managing its growing grassroots operations.

The PPA is a non-profit membership organisation of almost a million poker players from around the United States and Lesofski joins as the group continues to gain ground in protecting the rights of individuals to enjoy the game.

With a growing membership base, PPA is rapidly becoming the strongest voice for poker players in Washington, DC, and the individual state capitals and Lesofski joins from the national office of Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons where he served as the Senior Federal Policy Advisor. In his previous role, Lesofski handled a diverse portfolio of issues ranging from immigration and healthcare to education and gaming.

“As we get closer to reaching the million-member milestone, it is more important than ever for PPA to find new ways to energise and mobilise our members,” said Alfonse D’Amato, Chairman for the PPA.

“Drew’s policy and political campaign experience will be an asset to PPA as we further refine and augment our grassroots program.”

Lesofski began his career as a policy aide in the Washington State legislature as well as with the US Department of Education and was part of a team at the Department of Health and Human Services focused on Native American grant programs prior to his role with Governor Gibbons.

“Drew’s experience has given him a solid understanding of the relationship between states and the Federal Government and the skills necessary to organise and manage multi-faceted grassroots operations,” said D’Amato.

“We look forward to having him as part of our team.”
