Thursday 13th March 2008 EPT Warsaw: Day 1B Report
The European Poker Tour Polish Open has grown from 284 last year to 359 this time around, and has generated a prize pool of over €2 million. With so much at stake this leg of the tour is one which has embedded itself well on the European poker calendar.
The second flight of Day Ones started off with 168 players, but only 61 were able to make it through to Day Two. Recent Premier League winner Andy Black continued his fine form, busting Dave Colclough, Thomas Wahlroos and Arnaud Mattern on his way to bagging up 42,400 chips.
The Fossilman is extinct, after his AK ran into another AK of the suited variety. The tiny edge from the suited card were fully realised when they made a flush, sending Raymer packing with one of the more painful bad beats you can endure. Also out were Luca Pagano, William Thorsson and Soren Kongsgaard.
