Sandia 'best poker in Albequerque'

The main destination for the high-stakes player in the Albequerque, New Mexico, area is the Sandia Resort and Casino, Poker News reports.

Players are served by 15 separate tables at the resort - whose cushioning and lighting both came in for high praise from the news source.

"New or relatively new chips and cards" and a "bustling atmosphere" were also cited as reasons why the resort takes top spot for the area.

"A few other things to consider about this nice room: The high ceiling and lack of cigarette smoke give the place an airy feel. There are free drinks," the report said.

"And though the food surely isn't free, there is a cheap snack bar near the poker room with hot dogs, nachos, soup and sandwiches for only a few bucks each."

The poker room at the Sandia is open from 10am to 4am during the week.

At weekends, it is open 24 hours per day.
