Shorr 'eager' to play live poker again

Shannon Shorr has revealed he is looking forward to the start of the Five-Star World Poker Classic because he has not played live poker in over a month.

The rising star told readers of his Card Player blog he is "very excited" about the competition, while explaining that he has spent most of the week leading up to the event at sportsbooks across Las Vegas.

"I usually despise being around all the ego and the degeneracy that is live poker, but I can't help but get really excited about a series like this," he commented.

The Five-Star finishes on April 26th with the conclusion of this season's World Poker Tour (WPT). Carlos Mortensen emerged the winner from last year's edition, winning $3,970,415 from the tournament, which was also at the Bellagio.

Over the next two weeks, 15 events will be played in total, including the WPT Ladies championship.
