Nine left standing at WPT Foxwoods

There are only nine players left in the World Poker Tour's (WPT's) Foxwoods Poker Classic event with two days left to go.

Erik Seidel leads the field with 2,472,000 chips as he hunts for his first ever WPT title to add to his collection of eight World Series of Poker bracelets.

Following closely behind is Adam Katz on 2,190,000, with five-time WSOP title holder and last year's Bay 101 Shooting Star championship winner Ted Forrest in third with 1,682,000.

Raj Patel, who was the victor at Foxwoods in 2007, failed to make the final nine going home in 11th place.

Today's action will likely be brief with only three players to be eliminated ahead of tomorrow's six-man final table.

Should Seidel win the tournament and the $992,890 prize money, he will likely put himself in a strong position in Card Player's player of the year rankings, in which he is currently 22nd.
