Shorr to take short poker break

Shannon Shorr has revealed he is to take a brief sabbatical from poker in order to travel to Europe.

The 2006 Bellagio Cup champion, who was knocked out of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) main event at Caesars Palace yesterday, wrote in his blog that he plans to go to London and Amsterdam after a small trip home from Las Vegas to Alabama.

"There probably will be very little time for poker, but that really doesn't matter to me at all to be honest," he remarked.

Shorr will be back playing top level cards when the WSOP preliminary tournaments get underway in a month's time.

He claimed he was hugely disappointed at getting knocked out of the WSOPC because it will be his last live event for quite a while.

Shorr fell victim to Justin Bonomo who continues to have a solid year, which has seen him manage eighth place at the Borgata Winter Open.
