Friday 27th June 2008 Fun And Games At WSOP 2008
As the WSOP bandwagon rolls on the action today centred around Event 45, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship. This was day one for the popular event and saw 148 players join the ranks which included some of the biggest names in the game. Blinds were played, chances were taken and slowly but surely the field was whittled down to 140, then the real fun began.<br />

As the tension mounted and the stakes got greater the likes of Lyle Berman came to the fore being the first to break the 500,000 chip barrier. Closely followed by Patrick Bueno and Barry Greenstein the top ten in the event was starting to look like a who’s who of the poker world. As the lights dimmed on the first day of the four day event the likes of Minh Ly, Chris Reslock and Joseph Michael were still around and still very much in the running.<br />

The only disappointment for this popular event was the fact that there were also other tournaments on the same day, deflecting the attention some what from what many still regard as one of the high spots of the WSOP scene. Perhaps the next 3 days will steal back some of the limelight.
