Thursday 28th August 2008 Quinn Do takes down APT preliminary
Quinn Do warmed up for the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau main event yesterday with victory in a Texas hold'em tournament put on for charity. The World Poker Tour (WPT) titlist outlasted a host of top professionals and celebrities, according to the APT website, with the latter group providing him with a heads-up opponent. Renee Dai is a famous Cantonese music artist by trade, but she managed to outlast a number of the world's best card sharps to finish in second place, ahead of the likes of Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, JC Tran and Nam Le. David 'Chino' Rheem, one of the nine remaining competitors in the 2008 World Series of Poker main event, finished in third place. Future boxing hall-of-famer Manny Pacquiao was scheduled to attend the tournament, but the APT did not report whether he took part or not. APT Macau has not managed to attract as many poker stars as it perhaps could have, due to it clashing with the WPT Legends of Poker event, which is currently taking place at California's Bicycle Casino.
