News that Bet365 has signed up World Series of Poker 2008 bracelet winner Jesper Hougaard to be part of the group’s poker team has received a great welcome from those in the industry. While the appointment of Jesper Hougaard as the company’s ambassador for poker will see him play a number of regular online games and attend a variety of promotional and marketing events the financial terms of the deal have not been revealed.<br />

The 24 year old Dane has been rising up the ranks of the poker industry for some time and this has coincided nicely with the emergence of Bet365 as a player in the poker industry – put the two together and you have what could be a match made in heaven. Hougaard claims that his inspiration was fellow countryman Gus Hansen and this is what spurred him on to claim his gold bracelet and a prize drop of some $610,000 in this years WSOP event.<br />

While many prominent players in the early stages of this years WSOP event have already been signed up, we will see another wave of big name signups after the forthcoming main event final table when the marketing power of the winner will reach a pinnacle few could ever dream of.
