Friday 5th September 2008 The Borgata Poker Open is going from strength to strength
While the Borgata Poker Open has always been a well known mark on the poker calendar it seems that this year is set to beat any previous records by some way. The event is being held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City and the first day’s registration saw a record 1,192 put their names down for the event.

Day one saw a $300 No Limit Hold’em game which brought in a prize pool of just over $357,000 with $77,170 going to the winner – but that is just the start. It was interesting to note that a number of major regulars on the circuit are now taking an interest in the Borgata Poker Open with Mike Sica, Dale Pinchot, Lou Russo, Tony Salerno and Davidson Matthew to name but a few who are in attendance.

This is one of the larger tournaments on the circuit with a guaranteed $5 million prize pool and the potential to pit your wits against some of the best names in the game. As the event works its way to the main table we shall bring you more and more news from the Borgata Casino and keep you in touch with the big winners.
