Deep stacked tournaments the way ahead

As we approach the final stages of WSOP 2008 it seems as though deep stack tournaments are set to grab the headlines again with a new game from poker giant 888.com set to take the market by storm. Each Sunday the group will hold a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament where every player will start with 10,000 chips and extended blinds of 20 minutes.

The basic entrance fee is $220 but there are numerous ways to bankroll the fee though satellites and one off specials. Even though the entrance fee is a little on the high side for many players this is what it costs to be part of a $100,000 guaranteed prize fund game.

The poker industry tends to move in trends and the latest trend seems to be the deep stacked tournaments as players around the world look to the final table of WSOP 2008 for inspiration. This style of player also allows players to play their own game, whether this is all out attack or sitting back to soak up the pressure and see what their opponents are up to.

Whatever happens, with $100,000 up for grabs there is sure to be plenty of action each Sunday at 888.com.
