Tuesday 9th September 2008 Is Michael Phelps looking to join the poker community?
Rumours are rife that Michael Phelps, the man who literally swims like a fish, is set to join the celebrity poker team of WSOP super hero Doyle Brunson. Whether this is just a smart piece of PR by the old man of poker or something is actually in the offing remains to be seen but the evidence is mounting.<br />

Doyle Brunson is the ten times WSOP champion who has his own very successful online business at DoylesRoom where he has nurtured and created one of the best celebrity poker teams in the industry. There has definitely been contact between Phelps and Doyle as they were pictured dinning together but quite where this heads in the short term remains to be seen.<br />

However, it seems as though Phelps is a very big fan of the poker scene and something of a mean player himself. Grabbing Phelps for the team would not come cheap but it would be a massive coup even compared to some of the superstars on the celebrity poker scene at the moment. <br />
<br />
Since the poker industry took another step forward it has attracted a growing number of celebrities and seems to be the ‘in thing’ among celebs all around the world.
