As we head towards the final table of this year's WSOP 2008 the relatively unknown Scott Montgomery is fast becoming a favourite with the punters even though he is currently third in the stack list for the final stages. So who is Scott Montgomery? What chance does he have of victory? Is he really in the frame?<br />

Scott Montgomery was born on the 16th October 1981 in Perth, Ontario, Canada and while he has been moderately successful in the world of poker he has not hit the big time as yet. His largest win to date is $296,860 at the 2008 LA Poker Classic where many believe that he came of age in the poker community. <br />
<br />
While his near $300,000 win is nothing to be ignored it really puts his experience and his limited success into context when you consider that his total lifetime income from live poker tournaments is just above the $400,000 level. In any other sport this would be considered successful but in poker there is a need to be successful for years before you are accepted as one of the superstars.<br />
<br />
Scott Montgomery has a chance at the final table even though he will start a few million chips down on the leader, but the punters like him and his odds for winning WSOP 2008 reflect this.
