Tuesday 16th September 2008 Spotlight 29 Casino hosts All Star Poker Challenge
The All Star Poker Challenge takes place at the Spotlight 29 Casino in California next month.
In a statement this week, the venue announced that poker professional Scotty Nguyen will be playing in the tournament.
This comes after the card sharp received criticism for his behaviour during a recent HORSE competition in the US.
During the course of the $50,000 event, which was played in honour of the late legend of the game Chip Reese, Nguyen used foul language that prompted the wrath of some sections of the poker press.
But he is scheduled to be present at the Coachella Valley casino between October 18th and 19th for what will be a no-limit competition made up of 30-minute sessions.
"Put the spotlight on All Star Poker action at Spotlight 29 Casino, the Coachella Valley's most exciting place to play," said a spokesperson for the tournament.
The winner of the showdown will be given the chance to play in the Pro Bowl in Honolulu early next year. They will also pick up what is expected to be a big monetary prize.
