Thursday 18th September 2008 Moses to play poker
Olympic gold medallist Ed Moses will be playing in a poker tournament in Florida in January 2009.
The man who took gold in the 400 metres hurdles in the Los Angeles Games in 1984 will be lining up with a selection of other sports stars at the Par and Poker Celebrity Challenge for Charity on Thursday January 29th.
Famous faces from the worlds of the NFL and NBA, such as Ozzie Smith, will also be present.
Money raised during the event, which also includes a round of golf, will go towards the Joyner-Walker Foundation.
It will be the second year in succession that the event in Tampa has taken place.
Record-breaking Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps recently announced that he is a keen fan of poker, suggesting it was one of his favourite pastimes.
Despite his enjoyment of the game, the man who won a record eight gold medals in one Games in Beijing this year is not one of the confirmed players in the charity poker tournament.
