Saturday 20th September 2008 WSOP 2008 : Darus Suharto step forward
Darus who we hear you cry?

There is a very good chance that anyone who has watched or played poker will never have heard of Darus Suharto but you can guarantee that his name will be hitting the blogs, the news wires and the poker forums over the next weeks.

Darus Suharto has ended up on the final table of WSOP 2008 in 6th place with a stack of some 12,520,000 chips - which is less than half of the chips leading contender Dennis Phillips has at his disposal. In a perfect world Darus Suharto would have very little if no chance of making a splash at this year’s final table but this is WSOP and anything goes!

Darus Suharto was born in Indonesia but is now a fully fledged resident of Toronto, Canada where he has a full time career as an accountant – a man who knows how to calculate risks and is very used to handling big money.

However, this is his first time at the final stages of a major event and his last major cash out was in the WSOP 2006 event where he left in 448th place - nothing to mock but certainly nothing to fill his opponents with fear. But will he rise to the occasion on the big stage? Will he be able to throw in a few calculated gambles? Or will he crash and burn?
