Monday 22nd September 2008 British Pro Makes Final Table At WSOPE
The World Series of Poker Europe’s first event, a £1,500 No Limit Hold ‘em tournament, saw 491 entrants create a prize pool of over £650,000 with £144,000 for the winner.
Many pros lasted into the money, but for Daniel Negreanu (who saw his 99 cracked by AK) and Andy Bloch, the final table was just out of reach. However, Neil Channing, a British pro who recently saw victory in the Irish Open and arguably the most famous name at the table, recovered from being semi-short-stacked earlier to now sit at the final table with just under 200k, putting him in 5th place.
The chip leader is young Adam Junglen, who has been a dominant force throughout the tournament. He has over three-quarters of a million in chips before him, about a third of the total chips in play.
