Wednesday 24th September 2008 Hellmuth Sees Double Going For Bracelet #12
Phil Hellmuth, regarded by many as one of the (if not the) best Texas Hold ‘em tournament players in the world, is known for making an entrance to the Main Events of the WSOP. These include scantily-clad supermodels representing each bracelet and an unfortunate incident where he managed to crash a racecar in a car park.
For this year’s £10,000 Main Event he plans to keep up the supermodel tradition but he’s seeking something a little different this year – with a prize of £2,000 and the honour of being a part of his entourage, there will be a Phil Hellmuth look-a-like contest held at The Empire casino in Leicester Square, London.
“I have a great chance to win my 12th bracelet at the WSOPE and break yet another world-record. I am the best poker player in the world, and while I don’t have to prove anything to the poker community, it would still be the greatest personal accomplishment to be the first to get 12,” Phil said.
