Tuesday 30th December 2008 NBC Poker After Dark back for a fifth season
The ever popular NBC Poker After Dark TV show returns today for a 5th season which promises to offer the usual mix of thrills and spills with 16 new episodes planned for 2009. The first three episodes entitled "close but no cigar" will include a series of nearly men who made it to the final table of the World Series of Poker but were not able to bag the big one.<br />

Each player in the first series of games will put down $20,000 of their own money with the winner taking the combined prize pot from all players. The second batch of programs will start on 5 January and is entitled "speak your mind" featuring the likes of Phil Hellmuth and Todd Brunson who are well-known as two of the "big mouths" on the poker circuit. The 9 February will see a series entitled "brilliant minds" which will bring together a number of poker players who have Ph.D.s.<br />

The 16 February will see the introduction of "Nets versus Vets" when young up-and-coming Internet players will take on the grandmasters of the poker arena. The new series of Poker After Dark seems set to attract more and more viewers than ever before even in these troubled economic times.<br />
