Tony Cascarino was born in September 1962 and is a well known footballer who had a career both in Britain and France as well as representing his country, the Republic of Ireland, at international level. Since his retirement he has moved into a career in football commentary writing for both the Times and Ireland’s Hot Press magazine as well as presenting various football programmes on TalkSPORT. However, in latter years he has become well known as one of the U.K.'s better celebrity poker players and his earnings to date are very impressive!
Cascarino as a footballer started his career at Gillingham in 1982, moved on to Millwall and then to Aston Villa, Celtic and Chelsea. He also represented Olympique de Marseille and Nancy in France where many believe he had his most successful period in football. However, it is his poker career, which started in October 2003, which has caught the attention of late.
So far he has had two first-place finishes as well as nine top-10 finishes which have accumulated poker earnings of some $400,000. Since 2006 when the money started to roll in from his poker activities he has gradually increased his earnings and in 2008 bagged an impressive $137,611. It seems as though the poker career of Tony Cascarino could well be as successful as his football playing days!
