Poker Academy Coming To Dublin

Last weekend, Birmingham’s Broadway Casino played host to the second stage of the Bluff Europe Poker Academy and gave amateur players the chance to ‘learn from the pros’ including Paul ‘Action’ Jackson and Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott. The Poker Academy began last month in Manchester at the trendy 235 Casino and saw Ian ‘Raiser’ Frazer join Jackson for three hours of interactive lectures assisted by poker author Alex Rousso. This was followed by a double chance freeze-out poker tournament in which players were able to ask Jackson and Frazer for their advice during live play. The itinerary at all Poker Academy events is similar with the lecture series covering some of the most crucial concepts in professional poker such as its fundamental theory alongside luck and variance, dealing with defeat and bankroll management. Dublin’s Sporting Emporium will play host to the Poker Academy’s third stop this Saturday and attendees will be able to meet, learn from and play against Irish poker legend Donnacha O’Dea. Tickets are priced from £150, which includes the tournament buy-in, and those interested in taking part should visit BluffEurope.com/PokerAcademy for more information. “This is a great opportunity for intermediate players to come along and improve their game by learning from some of the best players in the country and, hopefully, have a lot of fun at the same time,” said Rousso. The tour ends on May 23 at London’s Casino At The Empire with Phil ‘The Unabomber’ Laak taking over tutorial duties alongside Rousso.
