Empire Poker prays for Bad Weather

Empire Poker, an online poker company has hired a team of religious figures including a rabbi, a minister and an imam, to pray for bad weather.

The Internet company is acting on research and common sense which suggests the worse the weather, the more likely people are to stay indoors and gamble. The company says that when snow and cold force people to stay indoors, they log onto the poker site more often and play for longer periods.

'Our religious team prays daily for inclement weather because it makes everyone money,' said Ron Burke, president of Empire Poker. 'Farmers have prayed for rain for thousands of years. Why can't (we) pray for a little snow?' He said a percentage of the weather windfall is donated to each religious team member's ministry.
