Friday 26th June 2009 Online Casino Supporting PPA Drive
Leading online poker room PokerStars.net is giving players that sign a special petition from the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) entry into special $3,500 freeroll tournaments.
The PPA is a grassroots poker advocacy group that recently announced it would be making a major push from July 19 to 25, its National Poker Week, in order to show lawmakers just how many people throughout the US support legislation to regulate and license the game online.
For its part, PokerStars.net will reward anyone who signs the petition between June 27 and July 25 in support of legalising and regulating the game online with entry into one of five $3,500 freeroll tournaments. This petition will be presented to President Obama on July 22 and PokerStars.net revealed that each freeroll event would be capped at 20,000 players.
The freerolls are scheduled to take place on June 27, July 4, July 11, July 18 and July 25 and players can sign the petition and learn more about the PPA’s efforts by visiting PokerPetition.com/PokerStars.
In addition, PokerStars.net stated that it would be sending an e-mail to players during the week of July 12 and anyone who sends that letter to their Senator or Representative would receive a ticket for a special $10,000 freeroll to be held on the site in the future.
