Monday 29th June 2009 Trio Of New Stars For PartyPoker.com
Online poker players interested in competing against top professionals can now do so at PartyPoker.com after the leading site announced new sponsorship deals with a trio of the sport’s finest.
Already a long-time sponsor of American player Mike Sexton, PartyPoker.com has now added British pro Ian ‘The Raiser’ Fraser to its grassroots team of sponsored players along with Brazilian Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos and France’s Remy Biechel.
A building contractor from London, Fraser announced his presence to the world by winning three major European titles at the 888.com Pacific Poker Open in 2005. He went on to triumph at the 2006 PartyPoker.com European Open and the 2006 GoalPoker.com Champions League Of Poker and has amassed in excess of $1.3 million in tournament earnings.
Ramos began competing professionally in January of 2008 and has already accumulated over $700,000 in tournament winnings online and offline. A Brazilian Series Of Poker winner, he finished in sixth spot to take home $67,663 at the recent $5,000 pot-limit Omaha event at the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) and will be competing under the usernames ‘mojave14′ and ‘FelipeMojave’. In addition, he will help to nurture fellow players by writing his own blog for the site while conducting tutorials.
“I am really looking forward to representing PartyPoker.com in Latin America,” said the 26-year-old Sao Paulo native.
“I stopped playing there for a while but I came back as I love the software and new VIP programme. I strongly feel that my association with the site is a natural fit.”
Having cashed over $840,000 throughout his career, 40-year-old Biechel began playing no-limit hold’em poker at PartyPoker.com in 2005 before graduating to regular live play at the Aviation Club. He is consistently rated as one of the top French players and cashed four times on his maiden visit to the WSOP last year.
“I have played on PartyPoker.com for many years and have significantly increased my play recently with the new software and new VIP programmes,” said Biechel.
“Easier multi-tabling and the new design got me hooked.”
