Online and Mobile Casino Slots Survey Defies Stereotypes

Online casino Slotland.com has announced the results of its Online Slots Player Survey that was conducted over the summer with some surprising findings.

The Survey was conducted from July to September and asked players questions about their betting habits, strategies for winning and memorable wins along with enquiries about playing games on mobile telephones.

Perhaps reinforcing a stereotype, the Survey found that most online and mobile slots players aren’t high rollers but prefer to deposit small amounts and play it as long as they can. All of the respondents stated that they would place a maximum bets if they felt the time was right while a third said that they always bet the maximum. Eighty-four percent responded that the best way to win at slots was to stick with a machine that feels lucky and, while 78 percent stated that they'd never bet more than $100, more than half said they'd had wins over $1,000.

The Survey’s responses showed that two-thirds of players like slots because they're easy to play with the remaining third primarily drawn by the possibility of winning big jackpots on small wagers.

While the results of the Survey indicated that most players took part only on their computer, 20 percent stated they had at least tried mobile games with the majority of players acknowledging the convenience of playing games on a PDA or mobile telephone.

Nearly all the respondents stated that they played exclusively or mostly at home with a third saying that they played video poker as well as slots. Half said that they have at least tried online poker but only a few responded that they played online poker often with only a third having visited Las Vegas. While many only play online, 60 percent stated that they also play slots in land casinos.

Finally, the Survey found that most slot players are middle-aged and older but some 16 percent are under 30 with half of the respondents being male.
