Friday 29th February 2008 NBC Heads-Up Championship First-Round Matchups Set
The NBC Heads-Up Championships have made the draw for this year’s tournament at the PURE Nightclub at Caesars Palace. With nearly all of the 64 players arriving at the pairing party, the club was a veritable ‘who’s who’ of poker.
As for the draw itself, there are some monster pairings as you would expect. Tom ‘Durrr’ Dwan will get to test his online skills live against Phil Hellmuth, while Chris Ferguson vs John Juanda looks to be the other pick of the Clubs bracket.
The fiercest bracket looks like the Diamonds from where we’re sat. The end of the draw saw some massive ties come out, with Barry Greenstein taking on Howard Lederer, Michael Mizrachi will tackle Daniel Negreanu and our personal favourite…the mighty Sammy Farha will take on The Grandfather of Poker, Doyle Brunson – buckle up!
