Tuesday 29th April 2008 Dwan almost doubles his WPT winnings with online game
Tom Dwan proved he is more than just a one-variant poker player over the weekend.
Following a demonstration of his no-limit Texas hold'em skills by finishing ninth in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship event over the week, the online star went on to show his talent for pot-limit Omaha, taking $150,000 in one game alone, reports PokerStrategy.com.
The total is almost the same as his winnings from the WPT competition, where he made $184,670.
Most of Dwan's earnings from the Omaha match came in a hand against a player called lady marmelade, when he won a pot worth $112,000 after beating his opponent's set of sevens with three aces.
Dwan, who is known as Durrr online, has had most of his live tournament successes at Texas hold'em, but he does have a notable pot-limit Omaha finish to his name.
He came second at event seven of this year's Aussie Millions, winning $90,000 for his effort.
